Vicat

A leading industrial player in the field of mineral and bio-sourced construction materials.

French cement industrialist, with international presence, and the originator of artificial cement, the family-owned company VICAT is committed to achieving carbon neutrality throughout its value chain by 2050. Vicat (listed on the stock exchange) currently operates three main businesses: Cement, Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC), and Aggregates, along with complementary activities. The cement group employs nearly 9,900 people and achieved a consolidated turnover of €3.642 billion in 2022. Present in 12 countries – France, Switzerland, Italy, United States, Turkey, Egypt, Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, Kazakhstan, India, and Brazil – Vicat generates over 60% of its turnover internationally.

An alliance that materializes the commitment of two French industrial players to engage in the reindustrialization of territories and promote French technological and industrial expertise as a lever for ecological transition.

Vicat has established an ambitious strategy to minimize the carbon impact of all its activities and preserve natural resources by further deploying its circular economy model in territories. To reduce the carbon footprint of its activities, Vicat targets the substitution of fossil fuels, improving the energy efficiency of its operations, decarbonized mobility, renewable and low-carbon energy production. This decarbonization of processes is accompanied by an innovation strategy on concretes and cements to reduce, for example, their clinker content. These are all levers deployed by Vicat to accelerate the decarbonization of its activities and achieve its carbon neutrality objectives throughout its value chain by 2050..
