Borda Occitanie, the first joint production facility by Vicat Group and MATERRUP, will be built in Carbonne, Haute-Garonne.
Just a few months after the creation of their joint venture "Borda Occitanie," the Vicat Group and MATERRUP are materializing their commitment to engage in the reindustrialization of territories and promote French technological and industrial expertise as a lever for ecological transition.
Based in Carbonne (31), at the heart of the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region, the first low-carbon cement production unit, Borda Occitanie, will have an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons of MCC1© Occitanie cement.
By combining Vicat Group's historical expertise in construction materials with MATERRUP's deeptech innovations, we are jointly providing a concrete and sustainable response to the decarbonization challenges of the cement/concrete industry:
💬 "This new structure will enable Vicat to provide highly low-carbon complementary solutions and meet the various needs of stakeholders in the construction sector. The development prospects are promising."
Guy Sidos, Chairman and CEO of the Vicat Group.
💬 « Carbon avoidance is in MATERRUP's DNA. Raw clay is a true buffer, both for carbon and for energy and competitiveness. This joint venture with the Vicat Group allows us to accelerate our commitment to transition by reindustrializing territories through partnerships with existing industrial players."
Mathieu Neuville, CEO of MATERRUP.
The Vicat Group and MATERRUP already aim to build four additional low-carbon MCC1© cement production units nationwide.
