Site visit – a low-carbon bike path

Charles Neuville, CFO of Materrup: : "This morning, I was on a bike path construction site.

Nothing spectacular.

Just a visit to listen, observe, understand.

I do this regularly. Staying close to the field is essential. That’s when change truly happens.

At MATERRUP Low-Carbon Cements, we have a simple but demanding mission:

👉to give concrete a renewed purpose.

Because we’ll still need it tomorrow.

But we can no longer afford to produce it the way we did yesterday.

We design low-carbon cement, locally made from cold-activated clays.

It’s our answer to a question that drives us:

How can we keep building what’s useful, without sacrificing what’s vital?

And this morning, on that bike path under construction, I saw the result of years of work coming to life.

An everyday structure, designed for long-term use.

A local achievement, with half the carbon footprint.

It’s not just a lane for soft mobility.

It’s a small piece of the world we’re trying to improve. Together.

On site, I saw teams that were focused, dedicated, proud.

And I was reminded why we do this job.

Not for the thrill of innovation.

But to turn waste into a tool for a more livable world.

Nothing beats being on the ground.

And nothing compares to the real-world usefulness of what we build.

The best concrete is the one you don’t pour.

But when you must build, do it with purpose, coherence, and the smallest possible footprint.

👉 That belief is at the heart of Materrup’s creation. It’s become our DNA."
