Patrick Martin (MEDEF) at MATERRUP: Competitiveness & Transition — One and the Same Fight

Julie Neuville, President of Materrup: "It was a great pleasure to welcome Patrick Martin to our MATERRUP Low Carbon & Circular Cements site for a field visit at the heart of our CCC® technology and our industrial approach: producing ultra-low-carbon cements and concretes from geo-sourced resources, using a cold mechano-chemical activation process that is changing the industrial equation.

What clearly emerges from these discussions is both simple and demanding:

the #transition will not succeed against the #realEconomy. It will succeed through the real economy.

At a time of cost pressures, energy uncertainties, regulatory constraints and market tensions, the decarbonization of our industries cannot be a ‘nice to have’: it must become a lever for #competitiveness, #sovereignty and #resilience.

At MATERRUP, we believe that #innovation only has value when it is industrialized, deployed rapidly, and integrated into existing value chains.

👉 That is precisely the challenge: enabling companies to build better, with less CO₂, without compromising performance, reliability or project economics.

It also means creating local opportunities: raw materials, jobs, more agile industrial units and deployment timelines aligned with on-the-ground realities..

France has strong industrial players, recognized engineering expertise and breakthrough technologies such as ours.

At a time when industrial sovereignty is once again becoming strategic, this represents a major opportunity: building champions here and, together — French companies, sectors and ecosystems — bringing a French technological offering to international markets. Because the needs are global, and we can collectively succeed by exporting scalable solutions, supported by structured partnerships and rapid deployment.

🤝 Another key point: this success will not happen in silos. Collaboration between companies — industrial players, construction firms, engineering companies, public stakeholders and finance — is the condition for moving from pilot projects to full scale. Sharing feedback, securing use cases, accelerating standardization, and aligning innovation with procurement: this is where #impact truly happens.

🌍 In a constrained environment, the opportunity is real:

to reconcile economic performance and climate performance — and to prove, through industry, that the two move forward together.

🙏 ❤️ Many thanks to Patrick Martin for the honor of his visit and his trust.

😉 A special mention to Femmes du Medef des Landes | Femmes du Medef, who are driving the visibility of women in #industry and the transition, and who actively help build bridges, role models and meaningful cooperation. Thank you for your trust Patricia Vialle, Emilie Viala and Ikram Moreno.
